Joanna L’Estrange (previously Joanna Forbes) began writing and arranging songs when she was the Musical Director of The Swingle Singers and now regularly collaborates with composer Alexander L’Estrange, receiving commissions for original songs from The King’s Singers, The Military Wives Choirs, SingUp, independent film and for community and school choirs. Her songs and arrangements have been performed and recorded by the London Youth Choir, the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and The Swingle Singers. She writes for Faber Music’s Choral Basics series which includes a set of popular jazz warm-ups for choirs entitled‘You can sing…but can you swing?!’

This set of four jazz carols for two-part children’s choir and piano was commissioned by Twyford School in Hampshire and is published by Faber Music. The third song, ‘Come and see’, has signings which have been specially devised by Paul Whittaker OBE.
