A setting for SATB unaccompanied choir of one of the Advent Antiphon texts:
O Virgin of virgins, how shall this take place?
Neither before thee was there any like thee, nor after.
O virgo virginum was first performed by the choir of St John’s College, Cambridge, 14th January 2020. It received its first broadcast on BBC Radio 3 in the Service for Advent with Carols, 29th November 2020, performed by the choir of St John’s College, Cambridge, directed by Andrew Nethsingha.

Harry L’Estrange (b.2008) is currently the Head Chorister of St John’s College Choir, Cambridge, under the direction of Andrew Nethsingha. His first composition, a setting of The Souls of the Righteous, won the 2018 Choir Schools Association Composition Competition; O virgo virginum was composed a year later.
Having won St Albans Young Musician of the Year when he was just six years old, Harry achieved Grade 8 distinctions on the piano and the violin when he was eleven and has twice been awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Scholarship by the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain.
With St John’s College Choir, Harry has recorded many CDs, sung live on BBC Radio 3, performed numerous solos and appeared in concerts in Denmark, Hungary, Germany, Holland, Sweden, France, Hong Kong and Singapore as well as in the UK.
